Solution: Getting Kids Outdoors

Last time’s question:

How do I get my kids to play outdoors? I think the inside of our house is too much fun! Even while they’re not allowed to play video games or watch TV, they don’t want to go outdoors — they say it’s boring.

S.O., playroom supervisor and early childhood educator, says:

“Maybe one of the ways to get children outside would be to bring their favorite toys out, too, to start with. If all the fun is inside, it makes it work outside.   Blocks, dolls, cars, dress-up … all can be played with outdoors. And don’t forget– play with them, get involved and children will not care where are they.  Also you can find lots of books in the  library about outdoor activities.”
