Giving Your Child a Good Start

It is normal for parents to hope that their children will do well, if not excel, in school. Parents can do something to give their children a good start. Young children are naturally observant and quick to learn. Their minds are fresh, and they easily absorb anything that they see or hear. The best time to give young children a good start in education is between ages three and five.

As of 2007, approximately 40% of US households had gaming systems, according to Nielsen.  With a percentage this high, it is likely that many children have the opportunity to play video games, whether it be at home or at a friend's or relative's house.

Many of these children are afforded the chance to play games alone or with friends as they mature.  However, that doesn't mean that parents no longer have control over the games their children play.  All of the major gaming systems, Nintendo Wii, Microsoft XBOX 360, Playstation 360, offer parental controls for their products.

Building Your Child’s Self-confidence

I see my child learning a new skill everyday. I also see his eagerness to try out new things with his new found skills.  As parents, my wife and I try our best to help our son practice his new skills throughout the day. We know that this will help build his self-confidence. Self-confidence could well be the greatest gift we could give our son; it is something that money can't buy but we have the power to give it to him.
